Beauty Currently Loving ~ July 2017

Hey Friends,

Today I thought I would share with you all the makeup & beauty products that are making me happy at the moment... I published my last Currently Loving post back in February (That seems so long ago now) so I thought it was time for an update!

If you would like to know more regularly the products that I consider hits & misses in my life, then you can hop on over and follow me on my social media (TWITTER, INSTAGRAM or SNAPCHAT) where I post update, real- time mini reviews & hauls along with day to day randomness & life updates!) All links are at the end of the post!!

Lets begin shall we?

Blank Canvas Cosmetics - F08 Buffer Brush

You might have seen this baby in my last haul post (If you missed it you can check it out here - Beauty Haul!! (Makeup Revolution, Penny's / Primark, Blank Canvas Cosmetics, Wet & Wild) or if you follow me in Instagram you might have also seen him pop up on your feed. No joke, I had been eyeing this sucker up since Christmas but I just couldn't justify picking this up! A couple of weeks ago I caved. I just couldn't resist the urge & do I regret it? Not even in the slightest!! I love this brush! I'm currently using it for my foundation & I couldn't be happier with the finish. I was using sponges for a while & now I am currently converted back to a brush girl!! I highly recommend if you are in the market for a makeup brush of this type check this guy out!!

Benefit Rockateur Blush

Ok anyone who knows me knows I'm not a massive blush girl, however in recent times this little one has stolen my heart. I was gifted this for Christmas by my best friend & fellow blogger Dara - PurpleButtonCouture & I have fallen for it!! It came in a Benefit gift set. Not that I think I will run out of it anytime soon (I mean it is ridiculously hard to run out of blush) but if I were to run out of it I would definitely run out & pick it up again!!

Essence Strobing Highlighter

A product I have been pairing the Rockateur blush with is The Essence Strobing Highlighter - 10 Let it Glow! I really do like a little glow on the face however I personally prefer a subtle (yet noticable) glow rather than a bam! in your face glow!, especially for everyday use anyway & I find this one is perfect!! It gives me a nice "I'm alive" kind of glow without it being too much!!  I have been loving this for everyday use in the past month!

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder

I picked this up quite a while back & fell in love almost immediately (although I'm actually not sure I've ever shared it, either here or on my social media...) However in the past couple of months what with the move and finding new products, which I will be sharing soon, it kind of got left by the wayside for a while. Last week though I found it & put it back into my everyday makeup routine. I have been using it ever since!! I highly recommend that it you are in the market for a new setting powder then you give this one a go. It is so finely milled #overusedbloggerterm but its true!! It doesn't make me look cakey or pasty. It doesn't change the integrity or positioning of the products I have put underneath. It just gives my makeup a flawless, finished look! I absolutely love this little guy!!

P.S... PRO Mattifying Primer

I have already done a full review on this product (Full Review!!) & in it I mention that as I have normal to dry skin that it is not a product that I wouldn't use all the time but love it for when I want bulletproof makeup. However I find that in the summer months & in hotter weather this stuff is a godsend. It just keeps my makeup where I want it to be regardless of the heat and other external factors in my day. This will definitely be a product I will be taking away with me on holidays this year!! In fact I just picked up another one last week!! €5 a pop!! #happiness

That's all folks!!

I am currently testing out new products and will have many more to share with you in the up-coming weeks! I have exciting things coming!! I hope you enjoyed this post!! Please leave me a comment below and let me know if you have tried any of these out & your thoughts on them. Also please leave your recommendations for any other products you think I might like to try or you would like me to test out for you. I always love hearing your thoughts & recommendations!!

Currently Loving Beauty ~ February 2017

Hey Friends,

Happy Valentines Day!!

So I thought that today, as it is "the day of love" that I would share with you all the things I am currently loving... Beauty wise. So here we go  -

Also let me know in the comments what you have been loving at the moment or if you agree with any of my choices!!

PS... Kiss Proof, Matt Lipsticks

These have been a new obsession for me. I spotted them in pennys new display & I was like "hell ya" I picked up these 2 to try them out but I will definately be picked up more during the week & will have a full review coming for you guys!! The shades I picked up were Shadow & Slay. I have definately been getting alot more use out of Shadow but I love them both!!

Bioderma Moisturising Stick

So have been having a real problem with my lips and hands lately. Dry, sore, cracked. I think its just a combo of being run down, the weather & not taking care of myself. I was wandering through a random pharmacy, with no intention of buying anything when I came across this. I'm sure its not new but I had never seen it before. I have been loving it. It just seems to soothe & repair my lips. Considering I am addicted to matt lipstick I need to get the pout back in good condition & this seems to be doing the job!!

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Hand Cream

Like I said my hands have been a problem as well dry cracked and sore. I orignally put sudocream on it & it really helped. It fixed the soreness & cracking but I needed something to follow up & I have been loving this hand cream. Its been keeping them baby soft. I love it!!

PS... Stilletto Nails

I have been really drawn to this Stilletto Nail trend but I'm still not sure I want to completely commit to getting them permanent with gel or acrillic so I have decided to use the PS... falsies until I'm ready to comit. I love them! They last on my for about a week I can paint & design them. They do come in different colours but I like to get the nude ones and decide myself what colour I would like to wear that week. I think the glue that is included with them is fantastic!! If your looking for some temporary false nails I can't recommend these enough!!

PS... Miracle Primer

I have already done a full review on these & I honestly can't recommend this product enough. If you would like to read the full review you can just click on it here - Full Review || PS... PRO Miracle Primer

These are all the products that have stood out to me recently & been making me happy!! Don't forget to leave me a comment down below & let me know the products that have been making you happy!! Also let me know your thoughts on any of the products I have mentioned!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Valentines Day!!

Review || PS... PRO Mattifying Primer

Hello Beauties,

I have another primer review for you guys! Last friday I talked about the PS... PRO Miracle Primer. If missed it then you can check it out here - Full Review. The primer I am talking about today is the second one that they carry in their line. Although I did spot on Instagram that they have now brought out an illuminating primer too. This one, however their Mattifying primer. As I have normal to dry skin I wasn't that sure about how I would feel about it but I decided to give it a go anyway & at E5 a pop it wasn't exactly breaking the bank if it didn't work out for me. I could just pass it onto to a loved one with oilier skin.

Here are my thoughts on the PS... PRO Mattifying Primer -

This product like the other primer also contains 30ml of product. It claims absorb excess oil, minimise visable pores & to be lightweight in texture. It says it is suitable for oily & normal / combination skin. As it is winter time & my skin is much drier it's probably not the most suitable for my skin but as the summer rolls in I will get more use out of it.

The product is white in colour & has a siliconey texture. It leaves my skin really smooth and I love the base it gives me for makeup! However as my skin is drier it does suck the moisture out of my skin. I find that after wearing it two/three days in a row my skin feels really dry and gets flaky,

I will say though I felt like my makeup was bullet proof when I wore this as my base. I really think it would be perfect for summer time, when you are really busy or if you have a big event. I can't wear this on an everyday basis but if I have any weddings or important events coming up I will definitely be using this as my primer cos honey, my makeup will not be going anywhere!!

I can't say how this performs on oily/combo skin but judging by how much it drier my skin out I would say it is worth a try if you are have oil control problems

Would I recommend this product?

To be honest although I'm glad I have it and would repurchase it if I had an event coming up and I was out of it I still think if you are a normal/dry skin type like me then you probably don't need this in your life as you won't be able to use this on a daily basis, at least not without alot of skincare prep before hand or you will completely dry out your skin. I will be using it again in the summer & I will give you an update on how I get on. However if you are an oiler skin type then this maybe for you I would recommend you check out some other bloggers with an oilier skin type if you want some advice first though.

Have you tried this product!? What did you think? Do you have an oilier skin type? Did it work for you? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear from you!!

Review - PS...PRO Miracle Primer

Hello Beauties,

So the quest for the perfect primer continues...

In the winter months I picked up this new primer from the PS... PRO range from Pennys / Primark. I'm always on the look out for new affordable products & I love trying out new primers!! They have brought out two in the range from what I can see at the moment.

I picked this one up for E5... again another bargain!! Although to be fair a product can only be called a bargain if it performs well! Here are my thoughts -

This product contains 30ml of product & claims to create a smooth flawless finish. It claims to minimise the appearance of pores & fine lines & to be appropriate for all skin types.

The product is flesh tone in colour and smooth in texture, with a siliconey feel to it. I have normal to dry skin & I found this product worked very well with my skin. It does what it says on the tin, which is it creates a smooth even base for make up application.

As I have normal to dry skin I can't guarantee that it mattifys the skin or how it would hold up on an oily skin type but yet it doesn't claim to mattify anyway. They have another primer which is a mattifying one available too. I have a full review coming up on that next Friday, so stay tuned for that!

To be honest I think I have found a dupe with this product. As soon as I tried the tester in the store the first thing it reminded me of was Benefit's Porefessional & I was correct to be honest. For my skin I find no difference between this and the Porefessional apart from the price tag. Although I really enjoy the Porefessional I honestly can't justify buying it for myself any more when this product is available for about a quarter of the price!! The Porefessional may hold up better on oilier skin types but for me I get the exact same results from both!

Would I recommend this product?

100% If you were planning on trying the Porefessional but don't know if you want to invest give this one a go! If you have normal to dry skin like me then you won't be disappointed. I think it provides the perfect base for makeup! I will definitely be repurchasing this product! #winning

Have you tried this product!? What are your thoughts? Do you think it's comparable to Benefit's Porefessional Primer? Leave me a comment & let me know!! I would love to hear your thoughts!!

Beauty Blogmas #3 || Pennys Winter Goodies Beauty Haul!!

Hello, Hello,

I have done a little retail therapy!! Of the Pennys / Primark variety of course!! Nothing better in my eyes! & I thought what better way to spend a Satuarday in December then to share it all with my friends here on #BeautyBlogmas on my little blog!!

Makeup Bag - E5.00

Ok so I have many makeup bags but there all a bit dirty now (I know I can throw them in the washing machine... well some of them.. But who has the time haha) I have been looking for the right one for a couple of weeks now but couldn't find it. I didn't want a normal one that was just a open bag as it drives me mad when everything gets dirty from brushes and things. Then I spotted this beauty! Exactly what I was looking for! One side for brushes & one side for anything else I want to take with me!! #Loveit

P.S Pro - Mattifying Primer - E5.00

Ok so originally I was planning on picking up the maybelline Baby Skin Primer as it is a personal favourite of mine. However when I tried this on the back of my hand it had the same kind of texture & my hand was left silky smooth after it so I thought 'why not?' and if it doesn't work out then Ill just pick up the Baby Skin in a couple of days. I know this isn't the time of year to be using a mattifying primer when I have normal to dry skin but I also know that this is the time of year for parties and events! This means I need my make up bullet proof on those occasions.... so let's give it a whirl shall we??

P.S Pro - Miracle Primer - E5.00

I also found this primer in the range. This Primer has a different feel & look to it. I haven't given it a try yet but I am honestly hoping that it is going to be a budget version of Benefit's Porefessional which I am already a fan of!! I also thought I could use this for everyday and keep the mattifying primer for occasional wear!! It looks and feels similar to the Porefessional but whether it performs in a similar way remains to be seen!!

Eyelash Curlers - E1.50

Okay, Okay I will admit these were a total impulse purchase! But how pretty!? I do have my pair from Fuschia Cosmetics that I got about 3 years ago now (oh god I hadn't actually realised that until right now!) So it was about time for a new one to be fair!

Rose Gold Animal Print Hand Held Mirror - E1.50

Again HOW PRETTY!! It was not on the list but it was definitely coming home with me!! I have my other one which I got last christmas (pictured below) & Still use when im out and about even though its christmas themed but I think I will replace it for a while & bring it out again in the festive season!

P.S - Eyelashes - E1.50 (Each)

I picked two more packs of my favourite individual lashes! I wont talk too much about it as I've done a whole review post on them. If you missed it you can check it out here - Full Review

Wet & Wild - 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Colour / Shade - Pale in Comparison

I spotted this line of Nail polish & Im not sure how long they have been out but I couldn't resist trying them! I'm really into pale nudes at the moment or really dark colours (theres no in between haha) So hence why I chose this colour. I recently saw a YouTube video with Tati (Glam Life Guru) where she said Pinky Swear was a dupe for Essie's Fiji & I was going to pick up that but I was drawn to this shade at the time. However if I like the formula I will definitely be picking up Pinky Swear as well as other shades!

Essence Waterproof Liquid Liner - (get price)

Again this is a firm favourite of mine! It has been mentioned as a dupe for the stila liquid liner but as I have not personally tried that I can not confirm nor deny, all I know is that It is currently my favourite liquid liner at the moment and a product I always go back to. If you are in the market for a new liquid liner I definitely recommend you give this one a shot!

Catrice Matt Bronzing Powder

Again another favourite, I have used this for a while and my other one bit the bullet during the week, Its been on pan for a while & then I dropped it!! I really was planning on trying something new but again I wanted to stick what I know works for me. I will branch out soon though. This one is for medium skin but there is one for darker skin too that I saw (I assume there is one for light skin too but I didnt see it available) This is another product I recommend if you are looking for a new bronzer.

P.S. Brow Kit - E2.50

Now I have a review up of the P.S. Brow Kit but since that review they have changed it. Now it still contains the powder brow shade (which I love) but it no longer contains the lighter shade, which to be fair didn't work for me as a brow shade but (if you read my review you will already know) I did like to use it as a powder contour shade. Now the little trio contains a brown tinted wax, a powder brunette brow shade & a powder highlight shade. I haven't used this new version yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a go!!

 Essence Long Lasting Lipstick - Shade 26 - E2.90

If you have been with me for a while now (Thank you!) Then you will know I have raved and raved about the Essence Long Lasting Lipstick range. #obsessed I found a new shade! Woop woop!! Love this shade and can't wait to get some good use out of it!! Perfect Shade for this time of year!! In the Swatches picture below the swatch of the lipstck is accompanied a the Penny's / Primark Lip liner.

Penny's / Primark Lip Liner - E1.50

This is the first lip liner from the line that I have tried. The one thing I don't like about the product is that the shade name is not on the product itself! I think it may have been on the packaging but I wasn't vigilant enough. So after consulting the Google gods. I believe this is shade 06 Nude. I saw this shade and though it was very "MAC" like & since I purchased this I hear that it has indeed been duped for MAC's Whirl!! Shows I have a good eye I guess!! #Proud. I hope it performs the same way!! I will keep you updated!

Thats it!! My Little Penny's / Primark Beauty Haul!! Have you done and Pennys beauty shopping lately!!?? Please let me know in the comments below!! I'd love to know what you've been picking up!!

  • I will also be sharing daily festive updates on Twitter!! #Christmassyfun

Now Welcome to my post #Blogmas post!! I thought we would kick off the season with my favourite Winter/Festive Makeup Essentials!! I thought I would share my recommendations in all makeup categories in case you are need of some new products for your stash! Here we go -

Primer

I good primer is essential at this time of year! The days might be shorter in terms of light but they are much longer in terms of things we need to do and places we need to go!! This means your makeup must stay in place!! #bulletproof It must survive all the rushing around, sweating & all the different senarios you are going to put it through!  If you have been following my blog for a while now you will know that a firm favourite has always been the Maybeline Baby Skin Primer - Instant Pore Eraser (Full Review) However since then I have been quite the primer floozy and tried out many a primer. Here are my top pics Loreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Base (Full Review) Wet & Wild Coverall Primer, Base de Teint (Full Review), Benefit Porefessional. I recommend these primers to anyone who is looking for something new to try out... what ever your budget! For me, this holiday season I will be trying out the new PS... PRO Mattifying Primer & PS...PRO Mircle Primer. I picked these up in a recent haul (coming very soon!) and I have to say I am really liking them so far. I will have a full review coming!!

Foundation

Again Base products are essential this time. The only thing I will ask you to remember when it comes to foundation at this time of year, is that for most of us our skin will change with the weather. My skin completely dries up at this time of year. So not only is skincare super important but also the type of foundation can have a huge impact on your skin and the overall finish of your look. I generally stay away from mattifying foundations at the best of times as I have normal to dry skin but this time of year it leans more on the dry side. I think that as long as I properly prep the skin I could use them once and a while for big events but for general day today I am going to stick to my 'holy grail' Loreal True Match foundation.

Eyeshadow

This time of year I like to be a little more dramatic with my eye looks. I like to put a little more effort into my routine. What better time of year to play with makeup!! With all the new collections coming out and all the events to go to!, the whole world is decorated and dressed up and I see no reason why we shouldn't be too. I always tend to turn to palates for this. The one I've been reaching for the most recently is the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 palate. I have seen online that it has been duped with the Lorac Pro 1 palate. I have never tried it but if it is a dupe I recommend both. Even if its not I think it is a great palate & I love the looks I can create from it!! Makeup Revolution is a new brand I'm discovering and I am loving it so far!! However if this is a brand that is not easily accessible to you there are so many brands both high-end and high street (drugstore) that have amazing palates available, especially at this time of year! They are just rolling them out!!

Eyeliner

I love eyeliner most of the year round, however this time of year I bearly go a day with out it!! My absolute favourites (as you may already know) come from Essence. My fave's are the Essence Eyeliner Pen - Waterproof & Essence Kohl Eyeliner Pencil. However there are so many available to make your eyeliner dreams come true. Another brand I recommend for these are Rimmel & Loreal.

Bronzer

I think a little bronzer is always a good thing at this time of year. It adds a little colour and life back into your complexion. I think its a little confidence boost too when the winter blues come along. My favourite is still the Catrice Cosmetics, Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder, Meduim Skin. Next year I do plan on branching out on the bronzer spectrum but at the moment as the saying goes "If it aint broke..."

Blusher

Blush again is one of those products that can instantly add youth and life back into your face with one sweep of your brush. My favourites for this is Benefit Rockateur & Sleek Blushes! If you haven't tried out the Sleek blush range you really need to get yourself to your nearest Boots or Sleek counter and give them a swatch. You wont be disappointed!!

Highlighter

We all need a little glow in our lives! & what better time to glow than the festive season!! I have many options to recommend to you! There are now many different brands at many different price points that have highlighter palates available, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Makeup Revolution, Sleek just to name a few! Essence also does a nice cream to powder highligher. I also like the liquid highlighter Benefit's High Beam & their cream highlighter Watt's up. Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow!!

Brows

Good brow game is kind of a must all year round but its definitely not a part of your makeup routine not to be forgotten at this time of year. To be honest it is not an area I have experimented too much with to date. I find that powder and fixing gel gets me covered!! At the moment I'm using and really liking the PS... Brow Kit (which will also be featured in the future haul!) and the Essence Make Me Brow - Eyebrow Gel Mascara. I have heard that it is comparable to the Benefit Gimmie Brow but yet again I have yet to try it. I do know however that I am really enjoying the Make Me Brow.

Lippies

This time of year is such a wonderful time for makeup experimentation and lippy is a great way of doing this too. I love bringing out the berries, mauves / purples, darker brown nudes, wines and reds. Now I tend to prefer berries to reds but there is always an occasion where only a red will do! My favourite brands for lipsticks are MAC, Essence, Wet & Wild & Maybelline. I think if you check out these brands you will not be disappointed when it comes to range selection, texture and finish. If you would like to check out lipliners I recommend you try out ones from - PS... Range from Penny's / Primark, Essence, MAC & Rimmel. I also have it on my list to try out the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats as I have heard so many great things about them!!  The one pictured below is a recent find which will be included in an upcoming haul & it is Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in the Shade 26 (I really don't know why they don't name them anymore #sadface... or maybe I just couldn't find it! #confused)

These are just a few of my recommendations for you guys. I also wanted to show you there is no need to break the budget when it comes to essential cosmetics for the holiday season!!  Please leave me a comment down below with any of your recommendations you would like to share with the rest of us!!
