Beauty Blogmas #7 || Favourite Christmas Time Lippies || Drugstore Edition

Hey Everybody!

Welcome to DAY 7!!! Today I am sharing all my favourite lippies in my collection!!

Essence Lipsticks

I have spent a long time raving about the the Essence Lipstick Range Here are a few of my favourites from the Long Lasting for the season -

Here are my two picks from the Matts Range

Maybelline

Maybelline is another brand I trust when I am in need of a good lippie!! Here are the two I will be wearing this season -

Wet & Wild

I love the Wet & Wild Lipsticks. They are so affordable too & have a wide range of colours and finishes too!! These are my picks!

Sleek Cosmetics

Sleek produce some of my favourite bold lippies. They don't have a massive range of colours but they perform excellently on the lips. I love this shade of red for Christmas time!

Essence Velvet Sticks

I hauled these a while back. They are the Matt Version Velvet Sticks. I have the glossy version too which I accidentally picked up but I much prefer the matt versions. I have been wearing them alot. Can you tell which one is my favourite of the two?

Lip Liners

Lip liners are a newer addition to my routine in the last year. My drugstore favourites are the P.S range at Pennys/Primark & the Essence Lip Liner Range.

Here you have my top picks for drugstore lipsticks & liners. Please leave me a comment letting me know your favourite drugstore lipstick or liner. I love trying out new products!!

Beauty Blogmas #6 || Festive Polish

Hello Hello,

Today I thought we would talk all about festive polish!! These are my top picks this year!!

Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Colour

One of the things Maybelline do well is nail polish. My favourite December picks are Rose Veil (from the Metallic Silks range) & Extreme Blackcurrant and Devine Wine (From the Forever Strong Range) I love the formula of these!!

Essence Cosmetics

I have always been a huge fan of the nail polish lines produced by Essence. These are my picks for this time of year!!

In the photos they all look fairly similar but I promise you they are not (spoken like a true beauty addict!! haha). From left - right in the top photo - 114 Fame Fatal, 113 Do you speak love?, 10 True Love, 169 A Hint of Love. They the perfect shades for any red nail occasion!!

They also have a range of other winter shades if red is not your thing! Again from left - right -102, Sparkling Water Lily, 53 Rock my World, 80 Jeans On!

Catrice Cosmetics

We all need a bit of sparkle and metalic in our lives, Catrice does this well! Here are my two faves from my collection!

Here we have 62 Must Have STEELetto & C03 Metalight

Barry M

I love Barry M nail polishes!! I them all year round but I have picked two that I think will be nice this time of year if your are not feeling the bold, dark or glittery

From left - right -Rose Hip, Cardamom. (full review on Rose hip - Full Review Post)

P.S... Nail Polish Range

Pennys / Primark have really upped there game in the past year these are my picks for this season! And at E2 a pop not much room to complain! They now have shine finishes, metallics, mattes. The pink/nude shade is also a matte finish which I enjoy! The only thing I don't like is that there are not names so it's hard to identify them!

Wet & Wild Megalast Nail Polish

This is another formula that I recommend from the highstreet/drugstore. I love these polishes. These two are shades that I believe can carry you throughout the Autumn/Winter season. They are muted but dark at the same, perfect for if you want something a bit bolder but not too loud and in your face!

These are my recommendations! I love a good polish and I think they can tie your whole look together!! Leave me know in the comments what your favourite festive nail polishes are and any recommendations for me?

Beauty Blogmas #4 || Winter Glow!

Hello Everyone!

Happy Blogmas Day #4! Today I want to talk all about winter tanning. So its cold and rainy and it doesn't even have to decency to show yet our towns and cities are a glow... so why can't be glowing too?? Today I'm going to tell you about the products I like to use to achieve that summer glow around the holiday season! ?

I like to use two different brands to achieve my perfect tan!! To achieve a long lasting tan I like to use the Coaca Brown 1 Hour Tan - Dark. I use to swear by the St Moriz Tan, However they have since changed the formula and something in doesn't seem to agree with my skin. I seem to get an allegeric reaction from it. I have since moved on to the Cocoa Brown & I have to say I love the results.

Colour

This has colour immediately. It is a green/olive based tan which is my preferred colour. I love products like this that include a colour guard (how else are you supposed to know you haven't missed a spot! It gives you a light glow so you can wear it in public if you need to & it develops over the next few hours. It does say its a 1 hour tan, however the longer you leave it on to develop the dark it will get! I usually just treat it like any other developing tan & put it on before bed & wash it off in the morning. Sometimes if I want to be particularly dark I will apply it two days in a row and it works perfectly.

Application

Application is simple! Its blends easy (just dont forget to prep your skin before hand!) It also dries quickly and I have never had a problem with transference onto clothes or bedding.

Smell

I don't find it has a strong smell at all, although to be fair I actually like the smell of fake tan so I wouldn't be complaining too much anyway!

My recommendation

If you are looking for a new tan to try out I would recommend this one, easy to use, quick developing time and won't break the budget!! I'm loving the range at the moment! I also have the blending brushes and the Tough Stuff Scrub! Which I find super effective! If you want a winter glow, look no further!

If I am looking for an instant day tan I stick to my tried and true Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs - Medium. I prefer the lotion version, Its like makeup for your body. I have been using this product for easily about 8 years now and I have yet to find anything better! #holygrail. You can read my full review on the range here - Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs - Full Review Its from two years ago but my opinion on the products have not changed. So if you are thinking about trying it out that might help your decision!

These are my product recommendations on achieving a winter glow!! Let me know in the comments what your favourite tanning products are and why!? I'm always on the look out for a good tan!!

Beauty Blogmas #2 || Holiday Skin Saviours

Hello beauties,

Welcome to DAY 2!!! Still can't believe it!! Woohoo!! Today I want to talk about my favourite skincare products for this time of year. *Dont forget about the GIVEAWAY All links and details will be at the end of this post.

This time of year can really play havok with our skin! My skin is generally normal to dry but this time of year it is definitely more on the dry side. These are the products I have been using recently & I am very happy with the way they are working for me. None of these products are super expensive either so if you are looking to add or swap out and item in your routine then any of these should be easily accessible and should also fit most budgets.

You can also kind of see this as my up-dated winter skincare routine. When looking through these products you will notice that many of them are simple or really hydrating. This is because my skin gets more sensitive and dry so I prefer to use products that don't include harsh chemicals or anything that is going to irritate my skin. If you have similar problems these products just might help!! Besides I always think clean and hydrating products are always a good idea!!

*Disclaimer -There are many Boots products in this review. This is simply because I like the range not because I'm being sponsored in anyway. They have no idea I am writing this post.

Cleansers

At the moment I am using two cleansers. The first one is an oil cleanser. It is the Simple - Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil. This contains pure grapeseed oil and multi-vitimins & claims that it doesn't contain artificial perfume or colour. I picked this up recently enough and it says new on the label but I'm not sure exactly how new it is. Its new to me anyway and I'm enjoying it so far. My second cleanser is the Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Lotion For All Skin Types. I like to use this for my second cleanse because its creamy, gentle and the cucumber makes it refreshing.

Facial Scrub

As my skin gets really dry I have to exfoliate to combat any flakiness but as my skin is more sensitive I can't use anything that is too harsh. For a while now I have been using Boots Simply Sensitive Cleansing Jelly Ball Scrub with Aloe Vera. I find it has worked very well with my skin.

Micellar Water

I having been putting many micellar waters to the test in the past couple of months (Reviews coming soon) and I have yet to find one that I prefer to the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (Original) I know there are different types available so if this one doesnt work for your skin type I'm sure there will be another one in the range for you!!

Facial Toner

Again some toners can be very harsh. I always try to include one into my routine as they restore the PH balance in your skin after all that cleansing. I'm sure the one I am currently using is not the most gentle in the world but I have been using it since the summer and it takes such a long time to go through them. So I'm going to continue using it until its all gone. Also you use so little of it I don't think it will cause much damage. It doesn't seem to be causing my skin any irritation any way. The one I am referring to is the Boots Cucumber Facial Toner For All Skin Types. I know it contains alcohol but I find it refreshing (again must be the cucumber).

Eye Cream/Gel

I have two that I am currently using. One in the morning & one in the evening. In my morning routine I have been using the Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel for all skin types and for my evening routine I have been using the Boots Simply Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream with Aloe Vera.

Facial Serum

The serum I am currently loving is the Lacura Face Care Renew Q10 Anti Wrinkle Multi Intensive Serum.  Im a big fan of the Lacura serums I have a review of the Lacura Aqua Complete Multi Intensive Serum (Full Review) I decided to pick this one up instead to give it ago & I have to say I am very impressed with this range.

Moisturisers

I have three main moisturisers. One for daytime and 2 that I alternate between for nighttime. The daytime moisturiser I have been using Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser SPF15 with Aloe Vera. I like that it is once again a clean and fragrance free product. The evening moisturisers that I have been chopping and changing between are Benefit Total Moisture & Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb - Super Recharging Antioxidant Gel-Cream (Night). I have been loving these!!. The Benefit one is super rich and nourishing & the Garnier one is really hydrating. I love the gel formula of it. It just sinks into my skin!!

Oils

The oil I'm currently using and testing out was kindly sent to me by the company, although I am not being paid to talk about it & they have no idea I am including it in this post. It is the Omega Rich Pure Marula Oil. I am really enjoying it so far but promise to have a full review coming soon!

Lipcare

I am very unfortunate in the winter time with dry lips, so to try and combat the dryness and the chapping I use a lip scrub and lip blams. The lip scrub I am currently using (and I'm actually surprised with how much I like) is the PS... Lip Scrub. I picked it up originally for review and spoiler - I'm very impressed with the results! I really like the texture & how my lips feel after using it! The only thing I don't like is that it's in stick form. I don't like the idea of dead skin being left or stuck on it so I always try and clean it after using it. Another lip scrub that I would recommend are the ones from LUSH. I really enjoyed using the Bubblegum one.

Lip balms are also very important to me this time of year. My all time lip saver is the Carmex range! But I also like the Nivea lip balms & the one I am currently using is the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Balm with SPF 20. I still prefer the Carmex but I do really like it.

These are all the products I have been currently using & I think they are working for me! Leave me a comment below with any of your skin saviour recommendations!! I'd love to hear them!
